Yes. They are captures of the actual game. The technique was not invented by me but by Andrew Davie. It uses RGB colors. But the main thing is that it is an animation like in Dragon's Lair. That creates the illusion that the Atari 2600 can handle 3D (or at least 3.49D :) ) graphics but it's only animated.

I've joked about DOOM on atari before, but holy crap this is incredible, even if it is just a clone of Wolf3D
Thanks!!!. It is not real 3D though. More like animated still images, captured from the actual game.
Ah, that makes way more sense, for a second I thought for a second you actually somehow made a texture mapped raycaster on atari!
I feel like I am cheating but this brings a lot of publicity to my page, so I leave it ;)
Thanks for your interest!
how do i play?
You need to download the file, but you also need an Atari 2600 emulator, for example Stella, you need to open the file with Stella.
Is emulator no good?
how to go to stella?
just google "stella emulator"
Oh & How do you Make Atari Games
With dasm assembler. You can also do them with batari Basic. There are tutorials in the web. You also can ask in atariage.com forums.
That's cool
Thank you!!
Interesting! Would you mind sharing how you made this?

Interesting to read. Perhaps everyone gets this except me, but why do you call it 3.49D? :)
It's a joke because Wolfenstein is regarded as a 2.5D game not 3D. But mine is even less than that, at least by one cent :)
Sorry it was a typo in my message, it's not 3.49 it is 2.49.
